(it's fine..I just got back a little over half an hour ago)
Atem returned the smile. "I would be delighted to join you." He started to fantasize about what it would be like riding with Angela..the cool air blowing at his spiky hair, holding her around her waist. The smell of the food reached his nostrils and snapped him out of his mini-daydream, just in time to hear Angela asking him if he wanted ketchup or relish. "Ketchup, please."

Jack nodded. "You got it. Be right back."
"What else did you do? For fun I mean? Did you ever go swimming in the Nile?" Angela asked, while cutting her sandwich in half. "Or was it too dangerous with Crocodiles making their home there?"

Atem nodded. "Too dangerous. It was strictly used for fishing and there were times I would find myself catching fish for dinner." He pondered other fun things he did, which was hard, considering he was more or less a work-a-holic. "Let's see..there were a few instances Mana talked me into climbing a tree with her, which would often get us scolded by Shimon...he was the former keeper of the millennium key and a replica of Yugi's grandfather."

Angela laughed before taking a bite of her sandwich. "Really? You seem to be a Jack Of All Trades. And I bet during your time as Pharaoh this Shimon was quite strict." She took another bite after swallowing the first one. "If you want...I could teach you how to swim. That is unless you already know how?"

Being with Angela was making him laugh more than he ever did at all his enemies and rivals combined."Yes, he was, somewhat, when the occasion called for it, but there was also a humorous and jovial spirit dwelling inside him as well. And yes I can swim. It was only dangerous to do so in the Nile, and also, I was a bit of a work-a-holic most times. "

Jake came back with the Ketchup, then left when someone flagged him down at another table for their check.
Angela sipped her drink, "I see. Perhaps we could go swimming in the lake before the month gets too cold. I'm no Olympic swimmer but I'm pretty good." She finished one half of her sandwich. "As for you being a 'work-a-holic'...we might have to change that. Too much work stress will raise your blood pressure." Her eyes locked with his and seemed that could pierce straight into anyone's soul...before stripping off the mask. "So, please be careful when you do start working?"

"I suppose we can." Atem could see how concerned the young woman was...she sounded like how his mother might have been, and there were times he got mothered by Tèa, but with Angela it was different..she didn't come on as strongly. Not to mention his fatherly nature. "I will be careful..I promise." He picked up the fork and used it to spear a French fry, taking a bite out of it and chewing slowly.

"I'm glad you'll be careful." Angela replied. "And I'm sorry if I made you nervous...I've been taught to be that way in my profession. Sometimes you need to be tough in order to get your point across." She swallowed a bite of her meal. "So, how's the food? And what do you think of this place?"

Atem swallowed. "I understand and I know you mean well. I can be protective myself, possibly even more than you are. " He sipped the milkshake again before answering, "It is satisfying and some place I will recommend to Joey, Tèa and Yugi." He then took a bite out of the burger, chewing it intently.

"Glad I didn't scare you off." Angela joked. "I hope Yugi and your friends will like it here too. Pardon me for asking this...but are Yugi and Tea a couple? The way he acts around her-never mind it's none of my business." Her cheeks flared again, and she started on her potato. "Why is my heart beating fast? I'm not a cheetah...so why?"

Atem swallowed and the thought of how to answer Angela's question. Generally he would not answer such a question with strangers, but he felt he could trust Angela, not to mention they had gotten to know each other quite a bit during the past two days. "Well, yes, they do have feelings of affection for each other, although there were instances Tèa demonstrated she felt for me more..well before I met you.." He made sure to add that last part just in case Angela got insanely jealous. "She had never said anything but I can tell she did. While I did care for her and still do, I feel it was for the best she never confessed..nothing would have bloomed because I was aware of the fact I would be separated from her forever..but that is history. I still wish for her happiness. " He poured a tiny bit of ketchup and made a little work on them, eating silently for a bit.

"I can understand that." Angela commented, putting her chin on her hands. "You didn't want to get attached because if you did...it would make it harder for you to leave." They were quiet for a minute, then she added, "I imagine she will want to see you when she's better. I can take you to her if you want?"

Atem was about halfway done with his meal at this point. He took another sip of milkshake before answering Angela's question. "Yes, I would love to see her very much. It is part of the reason for my return. I had seen how difficult my death was on her, and I couldn't bear to see her suffering." He started to feel a bit worried about how Tèa would react to Angela.While he still saw the doctor as just a friend he was beginning to have strong feelings for her and he didn't want his friendship with Tèa to be destroyed if he did end up with Angela..or that in the least, Tèa would consider giving Yugi a chance. 'Come on, it is too early to think of such a thing..cross that bridge when you come to it.' In order to take his mind off of the upcoming dilemma, he focused on enjoying the remainder of his meal.

Atem was making sure he didn't get food on him anywhere while he was considering what he wanted to ask Angela.There was a slight milkshake mustache that he used the napkin to wipe off. 'Oh dear...she must consider me less than elegant.' He thought of an important question he had. "First I want to say I can never thank you enough for taking me in and your hospitality. What are you hoping to happen between us? In other words, where do you see us? Is it friendship?"
