Atem watched from the afterlife as Yugi and his friends left the shrine that held his duel with Yugi, before it collapsed. He could see how hard his passing was on the gang, although they were trying their hardest to take it in stride. His emotions were mixed--happy that he had joined those who had predeceased him but an ache filling his heart because he couldn't be with his modern friends for awhile longer. He lowered his head and closed his eyes. 'Ra, I beseech thee, please watch over and guide Yugi and his friends in my absence. ' with that, he went to go see what his old friends were up to.

"...I attack your monster with Green Phantom, then Queen of Autumn Leaves!"
A young boy yelped as his monster, Dark Bat, was destroyed by his opponents monster before 'Queen Of Autumn Leaves' took out the rest of his Life Points. "Aww man, I almost won!"
His opponent walked over, and patted his shoulder. "It's ok, Luke. But you're getting better! You had me scared a few times."
Luke looked up, "Really?"
"Yep. This was a great duel, sweetie."
He gave a big grin. "Thanks, Angela!"
Angela grinned back before leading Luke back to his friends who had been watching. She was a young woman of nineteen with raven hair that fell just passed her shoulders. Creamy skin that had not one blemish, and rose colored lips that were always smiling. The one thing that made her unique was her eyes...they were the color of gold...the sun. Blondes, whether dyed or natural, would become pale when compared to her lovely eyes. Perhaps the other most enchanting thing about her was her nature; Angela was calm, sweet, good-natured, gentle and always there when someone needed help.
And working in a clinic was when people, kids and adults, were confused on which/who to turn to...that's when a nurse/doctor was needed more than ever. Yet Angela made people see her as a daughter...sister...mother...or even a granddaughter.
Luke chatted with his friends before they went back inside the Emerald Isle clinic where they stayed and where Angela worked. This place was more of a hotspice than Hospital; it had a play ground, stables for riding the trails in the mountains, Library, game room, and even a classroom for kids who couldn't/wouldn't be able to school because of their condition. Speaking of which...
"Alright guys," Angela said as they entered the hallway. "Recess is over. Head back to class while I get back to my rounds."
"Bye"-"Ok"-"See you soon, Angela."
She waved as they went into the class room, then proceeded to the locker room to put away her Duel Disk and Deck before starting her rounds again....

(I'll take Yugi if you need me to)
Yugi was pacing nervously at home. Shortly after he and the others returned from Egypt, the emotional stress had been too much for Tèa to deal with that she had collapsed right in the living room. She did have a pulse so he knew she would be all right eventually, but he was still worried the episode would occur again. 'Come on, Yugi..now is not the time to be panicking. It's time to get help. ' He laid Tèa on the couch and then turned on his laptop to look for respectable doctors on the internet. He read through the list of doctors and their credentials. The one that really stood out to him most was Angela. 'Maybe she could help.' Drawing in a deep breath and letting it out, he got the phone and dialed the number to the Emerald Isle Clinic. 'Please someone, help.' His heart pounded loudly as he waited.

(That'll work)
Angela's cell phone rang in her pocket as she was putting away the flies of patients she had taken care of for the day. "Emerald Isle Clinic, this is Angela speaking."
"Hello, my name is Yugi Motou. My friend...she...she just passed out and-"
"Calm down, speak slowly."
She heard him take a breath. "We just got back from a big trip...Tea, my friend, passed out on the couch and I don't know what to do!"
Angela tapped her finger on the counter. "Hmm...could be many things; lack of sleep, stress, less energy...but I won't know until I take a look at her. Is there someone who can drive if you can't?"
"Um, my friends or Grandpa."
"Alright, here's what you do: Wrap her in a blanket to keep her warm and drive to my clinic. Tell them I sent you and that you need me at once." She gave him the address. "Get here as quick as you can."
"Thank you!"
Angela put away her phone and asked the nurse behind the counter for a blank chart to use. She felt the Celtic Cross, that had belonged to her late mother, around her neck grow slightly warm...then faded as quickly as it came. "What on earth?"
Elsewhere,
A certain spirit looked down at the image of the woman. Eyes widened in curiosity when it saw the Cross glow and the jewel that was inlaid in the middle. "Well, well, seems there might be a way to grant the pharaoh's certain secret wish after all..."

(or we could share him if you want)
The nurse reached for the chart and passed it to Angela like she asked. "Here you go. Anything else you need?"
******
(Gameshop)
Yugi got the blanket and covered his friend with it. He talked to her softly, telling her to hang on and she would be all right. Just then Mr. Mutou entered the living room. "Hello my boy--" he stopped in midsentence and stood still when he saw Tèa lying on the couch. "Want to tell me what's going on here?" His eyebrows arched a bit.
"S-She just collapsed and I just called the doctor..Emerald Isle Clinic..this woman said to bring her quickly!" His voice was shaking a little.
Concern appeared on Mr. Mutou's face. "Say no more. Let's go!" He slipped on his shoes and then Yugi stood up, placed Tèa on his back, straining a bit. He and his grandfather went to the car, slipping Tèa in the back of the car. Groaning a little, Yugi got in the front seat and shut the door. Mr. Mutou climbed in and drove to the hospital as fast as he could without going over the speed limit.
Once at the hospital, Mr. Mutou and Yugi went to the back and picked up Tèa together. A security guard was standing at the door. He immediately swung into action and held the door open for them.
"Thank you. " Yugi and Mr. Mutou entered the hospital and sat down to wait on the receptionist, laying Tèa in their laps.

Angela saw the receptionist was trying to calm down a young man while two people were waiting with a young woman laid across their laps. She went over to them. "Are you Mr. Motou?"
"Y-Yes. Are Dr. Brooks?!"
"Correct," She yelled to a nurse passing by. "I need a hand here!"
The nurse brought over a gurney and laid Tea on it before taking her to a room. Angela told Yugi and his Grandpa to wait for a few minutes. "You can go to the Cafeteria and get something to eat. I'll let you know when we find something."
Grandpa led Yugi to the Cafeteria and Angela went to where Tea was. They did the usual tests for lack of sleep, no appetite, etc. Tea's temperature was low and her blood pressure was low too. Half-hour later, the results came back as high levels of stress mixed with lack of sleep, plus a slight cold.
Angela went to the Cafeteria where she found Yugi and his grandpa drinking something warm. "Yugi Motou?"
Yugi sprang up from his chair. "How's Tea?! Please tell me she's ok!"
"Calm yourself, Yugi!" Grandpa scolded.
"Your friend has a cold, but it's mixed with lack of no sleep and high level of stress. Did anything happen on this trip you took?"
Yugi cast his eyes down. "Y-Yes...we lost an old friend. He passed on and we had...the ceremony in Egypt."
"I see. I'm sorry for your loss, Mr. Motou. I now understand how and where she could've receive stress of a high level. Now that she's here we can begin with treating her. Do you know of a way to reach her family?"
"Yes."
"Then I'd you to call them and leave the numbers at the desk. If you can't reach them, the person at the desk might be able to."
Elsewhere,
The same spirit was watching the woman and Yugi. When Tea had been brought in...the spirit grew worried. "I better tell Ra about this." With that the spirit dashed off to find his master.
(I leave the next part with Ra and the spirit to you)

Ra had just finished conversing with Mahaad before he saw Atem approaching him. "Hello, my humble child. You look troubled. What can I do for you?" He hoped it wasn't to complain about having to return to his resting place.
"A friend in the modern world is not well," answered Atem.
Ra nodded. "I am aware of that. This friend's name is Tèa, correct?"
"Yes," answered Atem in a low voice.
"It seems your absence has put a strain on her health. As sad as that is, she will have to cope somehow. Your task in the mortal world is complete."
Atem's facial expression was filled with disappointment. "I know.. but it pains me to see my friends suffer. There isn't away I can be with them and still be free?"
Ra thought about this. He had his doubts since death had to be accepted but then he saw how earnest Atem looked. "There is one way, but it won't be simple."
Atem got on his knees. "What is it? I'll do anything!"
"You will have to find an artifact..a jewel. Once you do it, you will have your own body."
Atem's eyes widened. "I'll do it!"
"With this jewel, you will have your wish, but if you fail, you will remain here forever."
Atem nodded. "I understand."

Angela finished talking to Tea's parents and Yugi was about what they were to do and what treatments she would need...when her cross became warm again. "There's that feeling again. What's going on?""She'll be ok to leave in a few days, right?" Mrs. Garder asked. The gold-eyed woman nodded. "Yes, and she'll need lots of rest, relaxation and TLC." Grandpa patted Yugi's shoulder. "See? She'll be alright, Yugi." A doctor came up to Angela. "Dr. Brooks? Ms. Garder is awake, now." "My baby!" Tea's mom blurted out. "Please let me see my baby!" "Calm yourself, Mrs. Garder." Angela said, slowly. "Of course you can see her, but only for a few minutes. Tea's still weak at the moment. And you," She turned to Yugi. "Can see her tomorrow. You need rest as well." "I agree on that." Grandpa said. "Thank you helping Ms. Brooks." As they left, Angela went to check on the kids in the Children's Ward. It was time for her to tell a story. Everytime she entered the room, all the kids lit up and they would crowd around her like chicks would their mother hen. "Alright, settle down. Let me sit down." They sat at her feet as she settled into a chair. ~*~ "Before you go, Atem, I must tell you about the jewel." Ra said. "I'm not going to repeat myself so pay attention." "I understand, Ra." ~*~ "The story today is about a special Gem...a gem that can new life." "Ooooh." Every child said. "Yes. 'Long ago, there was a young man who was in love with a fairy. They first met in the forest by the large lake...it was love at first sight. Everyday they would meet in secret for some mortals feared the fair folk, and would be hostile if they found out about them. Both would talk, dance, even have meals together. Never was there two people more in love. But one day, the young man didn't come...nor did he come next day or the next. Worried the fairy went to the village in the night....she found her love dead in his bed. Over come with grief she wept tears which became sea green jewels..." ~*~ "...But when one of these Jewels landed on the spot of her lovers chest where his heart lay; the jewel glowed with the power that is stronger than any magic: Love. Her love for the boy was so strong that it brought him back from the grave. Both of them were overjoyed to see each other. The jewel glowed again and granted the fairy a new body; a human body. So she was able to be with the one she loved." ~*~ "And that is the story of the Gem of Life." "What happened to the lovers?" asked a little girl. "And the Gem?" "They lived 'Happily Ever After.' But the Gem was powerful...too powerful if it fell into the wrong hands. So they gave it to the only ones they could trust...the Fairies. And one of those Fairies traveled the world with the Gem never leaving her sight. So it could be anywhere." The kids asked many questions, but soon it was time for dinner. Yet Angela knew they would be dreaming of the Lovers and the Gem of Life that night. ~*~ "We have an idea of where the Keeper of the Gem might be. It won't be easy but I'm sure you'll find the Keeper, my child." Atem nodded. "When do I-?" "I'll have the portal ready soon. Speak to your friends before you depart." (Atem's next scene is yours)

(ok..once Atem does return to the mortal world I would like total control over his character, but we can still share characters like Mr. Mutou and/or Yugi if you want)
Yugi followed his grandfather with a heavy heart. All he wanted was to remain by Tèa's side or at least see her so he could reassure himself she would be all right. 'This is so unfair. First Atem had to leave and now this?' He could feel tears stinging at his eyes and then he quickly dried them, not wanting to cry in front of his grandfather. He knew he had to be strong, but he couldn't help it. He was scared she would turn for the worst during the night or something. He said a silent prayer for her to recover soon. A smile slowly crept upon his face as he thought of what he could do the next day before he went to see her. He would get a card and a Get Well Basket with flowers and stuff.
~~~~~~~~~
Atem went on his way to go find his friends and family, keeping what Ra said in mind. The entire tale intrigued him in both a positive and negative way. He was eager to see this woman again and get to know her so they could rekindle their love. Of course it would be a different experience for him since he had not been involved in a romance in ages, but he wanted that companionship. ' To do that, I must not fail. ' He found Mana speaking to her mentor Mahaad about something. She nodded at him and he left. Seeing this was his chance, he approached his one-time childhood friend. She smiled when she saw him. "Atem!" She raced over to him and threw her arms around him, squeezing him tightly.
The former pharaoh chuckled as he hugged her back. "Still as energetic as ever, I see. "
Mana giggled. "Yup. I'm so happy to see you again."
Atem smiled slightly. "It's wonderful to see you, too." His smile faded. "However, I am about to embark on an important quest."
Mana looked thoughtful. "What kind of quest?" she inquired.
"One that could be very dangerous and if I succeed, I will have to say goodbye to you again."
The brunette spellcaster looked like it had rained down on her parade. "Goodbye? But you just got here! I thought you would stay with us forever..with me!" She burst into tears.
Atem had a pained look on his face at having broken the girl's heart. He wrapped his arms around her in an attempt to comfort her. "Yes I know. However, it seems I am needed elsewhere."
Mana gulped and nodded, her tears subsiding. She remembered meeting the strangers who had accompanied him and she knew he was probably referring to them. "Well...I guess I could understand that. Be careful and good luck. Tell your friends hi for me."
Atem released her. "Thank you. And I will." He walked away from the girl and went to find the remainder of his court to tell them the same thing. They were slightly disappointed, but to his relief, they handled it better than Mana did..with the exception of Aknadin. However, there was always tension between him and his uncle, so that was no surprise. He went to find Ra to let him know he did speak to his relatives and friends.
(I don't mind sharing Yugi and Grandpa. XD And Atem is all yours...once he gets back to earth.)
Angela finished showering and got redressed then began to braid her wet hair so it could dry faster. It was a warm night, after all. Her work was done for the night, so she didn't have to put on her scrubs again. She put on a lavender top with elbow sleeves, denim cappris, and tan sandals. Angela never liked how people would go all out on clothes and stuff like Designer Purses and shoes...once they wore down or got torn you had to pay an arm and a leg for another.
"Give me simple clothing any day." She muttered. The golden eyed woman went to her locker to grab her duffle bag of laundry to take home and wash, when she felt the chain of her mothers necklace rub against her skin. She pulled out the Celtic Cross and smiled, she never knew her parents...they died when she was only three years old. But they had been Doctors like her Godfather was. And all Angela had to remember them was this cross. Through the middle was uneven she loved it.
Giving the pendent a loving hug, Angela retrieved her duffle bag and cloth purse before leaving the Locker Room and heading to the Parking Lot to go home. She passed a doctor by the reception desk.
"Bye, James. Good luck in surgery tonight." She waved.
"Thank you, Angela. When's your Godfather coming back from Germany?"
"Next week or earlier."
"Tell him I need to speak to him about a procedure for a new patient, as soon as possible."
"I will, James. Have a good-night."
The parking lot lamps cast a halo around the cars that where there. Angela found her car right away; a green Beetle, and put her bags in the passengers side before getting out her keys. A strange wind, to her at least, blew a few leaves around her feet as she got in the drivers. But stopped and smiled at the sight that captured her attention: The Harvest Moon.
She got into her car and drove to a spot by the park lake that was by her house. "Much better view." She thought as she turned off her car and looked at the scene before her.
The lake was smooth as glass and the orange shape of the moon reflected on it's surface. Crickets chirped, water lapped the shore, a few stars glittered above and the leaves in the trees rustled softly...
So peaceful...
Then she felt that strange wind again.
Growing up in Ireland, where magic is just as common as Eygpt, Angela had learned to sense when things where strange...be it good or bad. However this wind was a mixture of both. As if it didn't know what to be.
"Just what's going on here?" Angela asked herself. But deep down she knew...
Something was going to happen.
Once at home, Yugi went up the stairs and then closed himself into his bedroom, glad for the alone time so he could cry if he needed to. It was such an exhausting day, with their flight back and dealing with Tèa's mishap. He went and got ready for bed. He lay down, expecting to fall asleep right away, but he couldn't. Instead he lay awake, thinking about what was going on with Tèa. He buried his face in his pillow and wept bitterly. He felt like such a baby but at the same time it felt good to let everything out. After having a good cry, he drifted off to sleep, ignoring the slight headache that had formed. He figured it would be all gone by morning.
~~~~~~~~~
Ra seemingly smiled at what Atem had accomplished. He already knew how his friends took the news so he didn't bother asking. "Are you ready to go on the quest?"
Atem nodded firmly. "I have to do this. Is there anything else I should know?"
"I have already told you everything," responded Ra. "I hope you haven't forgotten already."
Atem found the sternness to be a little intimidating but he wasn't worried. "Of course not. "
"Good. Follow me."
Atem nodded, and followed as Ra led him to a warp hole. Ra turned to face the one-time king. "Make sure you have no doubts while you enter that portal. You cannot afford to be distracted."
"I understand." Atem had cleared his mind while searching for his friends and family.
Ra was impressed by how much Atem had seemed to learn as well as his determination. "Go along now. And best of luck."
"Thank you." Atem walked through the open portal, mentally preparing himself for whatever was on the other side.

Angela sat on her Car hood, Moon-Watching was one of her favorite things to do; next to gardening, and telling kids stories or singing while playing her guitar. She breathed in the crisp autumn air and sighed. This was like a scene from the story she had told the kids...where the two lovers would spend time together. A song formed in her head from her childhood, and she couldn't help but sing it aloud.
"Between the here, between the how,
Between the north, between the south Between the west, between the east Between the time, between the place
From the shell A song of the sea Neither quiet nor calm Searching for love again
Between the winds, between the waves. Between the sands, between the shore
From the shell A song of the sea.
Neither quiet nor calm Searching for love again.
Between the stones, between the storm Between the sky, between the sea."
Her Godfather would tell her the story of the Fairy and the Human Man whenever she asked, it was her favorite story. It reminded her of Romeo & Juliet...lovers of two different beings, separated by fear yet they found a way to be together. Like the earth and sea were together.
"But what happened to the Gem?"
She asked her Godfather that same question. He didn't have an answer...it remained a mystery. "We may never know where it is."
Angela was about to head inside her house when the strange wind became stronger...almost knocking her off her feet. She grabbed her purse and duffle bag before racing into her house. "What in Oberon's Court was that?!" She asked herself.
Little did she know...Yugi was going to have a surprise guest at his house.
(You're up. ;D )

(all right here goes)
Yugi had been sleeping peacefully until all of a sudden, it was interrupted by a strange dream. He tossed and turned in his bed, messing up the neatly fixed sheets and they ended up on the ground. He almost fell off the bed with them and had to hold onto the bed so he wouldn't. He sat up with a jolt, panting. ' What a dream. And what does it supposed to mean anyway? ' He didn't dare try to go back to sleep. All of a sudden he heard the sound of the wind howling, making him jump. ' What was that? Something tells me I had better get up.' He rubbed what sleep was left in his eyes and lazily climbed out of bed. He grabbed his robe, put it on and walked downstairs, heading into the kitchen. He got a cup and retrieved the carton of milk from the refrigerator, pouring some in the pot before turning on the stove. He then placed the pot on the stove to heat up the milk. He took a quick glance at the clock and saw it was nearly three in the morning. He was hopeful the warm milk would help him go back to sleep, but then he heard the wind howling outside once more. 'Okay, this is scaring me.' He sat in one of the chairs and laid his head down on the table.

While Yugi was having a hard time sleeping, Angela wasn't. Her dreams were filled with images of flowers, mountains, waterfalls and picnics. But the one thing that made it different was that there was someone with her...through she couldn't see his face. He had his arms around her while she leaned against his chest, watching the waterfall with her or laughing at a joke she told. Just as she and her 'mystery date' were about to kiss...Angela awoke to the wind rattling the glass in the window panes. "Seriously?" She groaned. "I was enjoying my dream." She turned over and prayed that she could have the same dream again. ~*~
Yugi was awakened by a yelp of pain and surprise. "Did someone brake in?" He grabbed a pan from the stove and went to the Living Room, he saw a figure rubbing it's head and grumbling something like 'stupid couch'. He crept up behind the intruder, raised the pan, and turned on light so he could hit more easily. But what, or who, he saw made his jaw drop. "At-Atem?!"

Atem sat up and froze as he saw Yugi looking like he would attack him. In a way, he didn't blame him for being scared, considering he had more or less snuck up on him and not to mention he had died earlier that day. "Yes, it is me. I see I have given you a bit of a fright. My apologies for that. Please forgive me." He nervously scratched his head, silently cursing himself for not choosing a better way to make his appearance be known and also for interrupting his little friend's beauty sleep. After all, just because he was a night owl, he didn't expect Yugi to be one.
