Britt was a bit surprised with the question from Mai and she noticed the slight blush on Atem's face "Nice to meet you Mai." Britt said to her with a smile, 'i don't think i've ever noticed him blush before.' . Joey was watching her "so Mai want to hang out with is?"
Mokuba looked back over at the table he left his brother at to see if he was going to come over and join the conversation or just sit there and ignore Yugi and his group of friends.
Marik hugged her back and held her close.
Odion smiled at Keren, "So what are you doing right now?" He asked

The waiter brought Atem his carryout box. "Thank you," he said, taking it. The waiter and nodded. "Do I?" Mai started biting her fingernail, the way she would when thinking about something. "Sure thing. After all, there's a lot of catching up to do, especially you and I." She winked flirtatiously at Joey.
The CEO got up from his spot and made a "hmph" sound. "Fancy to be crossing paths with you dorks here, especially you, Pharaoh. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me."
The former pharaoh gave Kaiba an amused look. "It is no trick."
"So you say. I see you have been up to quite a bit."
"That's one way of putting it."

Vicki buried her head in his chest, inhaling his scent. She reached up a hand, running her fingers through his hair.

Keren intertwined her fingers with his own. "Just relaxing a bit..have made Ishizu's favorite dish."

"Yeah, you do a little Atem" Britt didn't like the way Kaiba talked to Atem but she knew it wasn't her place to be saying anything even though she wanted to even in the air the tension could be felt. "So I'm guessing you and my boyfriend are rivals?" Britt asked even though she knew from watching the tv hearing it from the CEO himself made her want to ask.
"So this is the famous Seto Kaiba all the other girls back home talk about." Hathor said and Britt looked at her, it was true that Seto had fans in Egypt but then so did Yugi which she had made sure to avoid when they had been home.
Joey noticed the wink from Mai and he blushed slightly. "Well I bet you also wanna get to know our new friends, Britt and Hathor Petrova. The egypt tournament champs."
Hearing Joey say it that way made Britt blush slightly

"Yes, we are rivals," confirmed the CEO curtly in his icy tone. "But I do find him a worthy one."
"Well, of course I do," Mai retorted playfully. "They seem to be making you guys happy and I will have more to be like a big sister to. "

Britt didn't let Kaiba's icy tone get through her, she figured it was best. "Well then I'm sure we'll see you again." She said, as much as she figured Kaiba would be a target for the sorceress she didn't really say anything. Mokuba picked up on Britt's natural tone to his brother and he didn't know many people who could be so calm to his brothers icy tone. "So you guys took on that woman." Mokuba said
"Yeah, but she'll return sometime." Britt said to Mokuba, though she'd picked up on Mai's playful tone to Joey. "You're a really well known duelist Mai." Britt said
Joey smiled "Hey mai, you should come by the school sometime. Britt's holding this awesome play." Joey said and Britt couldn't believe joey referred it as awesome.

Kaiba didn't answer Britt. On one hand he wanted to see if she was worthy of her title but on the other hand, her friends still wasn't his favorite people. He tapped his brother's shoulder. "Let's go pay and get out of here."
Mai looked a little uncomfortable as she felt weird being at a high school given her age and dealing with rowdy teenagers. She tapped her chin, scrunching up her brow in thought. "Hmmm, I will think about it and let you know."

"That's good to know.." Vicki purred, running one of her slender fingers along Marik's jawline.
Keren blinked in surprise, then her face relaxed into a smile. She had a feeling Odion had something pleasant waiting for her. "Why of course you may."

Mokuba nod as he waved bye. Britt couldn't shake that something about Kaiba was familiar. "Stinkin memory wipe." Britt said under her breath. Britt looked at Mai as she said that. "So how long have you known everyone Mai?" Britt asked

Mai tapped her chin, trying to think. "Oh, for quite some time..since the days of Duelist Kingdom. I wasn't sure what to make of them at first, but that has obviously changed." She turned to wink at Joey again.

Britt hadn't expected that question from Mai, she wasn't embarrassed or anything. "We started dating not long after we met on my birthday. I was helping out a Egyptian Festival." Britt answered, she didn't mind the way they met.
Hathor smiled at her cousin "well that's one side of the story, at least your present one." Hathor said

Mai gave an awed look, though not sure what to to make of Hathor's remark. "Wow, that's quite the first meeting," she commented.

Keren held in her breath as she let Odion lead her and when he did stop into the room, she let a soft gasp. her eyes widening when he got on his knees. Tears of happiness threatened to fall, but she blinked them back, answering," Of course I will, Odion."

Odion smiled as he put the ring on her finger. He knew he had caught her off guard.
-a couple weeks later-
Britt was behind stage dressed as the princess pacing. It was the day of the play and all the outfits for everyone was new thanks to Tanya who had volunteered to make them.
I'm kinda nervous for some of these parts of the play.. Britt thought
Odion was sitting with Karen as they waited for it to begin

Atem, dressed in his prince attire, could see how nervous Britt was. He took her hand in his, patting it. "Try to relax. You will do just fine," he reassured her, his voice slightly above a whisper.
Keren took Odion's hand in hers, intertwining her fingers with his own as she waited for everyone involved in the play to prepare themselves.

Britt looked at him as she nod. She knew they had been practicing but she wasn't entirely keen on the arguements. Though as things started she kept her calm. When it came to the first real kiss scene she was a bit nervous for they'd already done the scene for starting the courting.
"A lot has changed since my first day here" she said
