In this thread talk about characters who die in an episode and you miss their presence in later episodes/seasons..but here's my list:

-Hotohori(Fushigi Yuugi)-man seeing him in that bed like he was asleep was just so gut wrenching
-Nephrite (SM)-am not gonna say too much on this..
-Atem (YGO)-yeah I know it was the final episode but still if there was a series with the original cast dovetailed off of the 5 seasons his presence would definitely be missed
-Nuriko (Fushigi Yuugi)
-Zagato (Rayearth)
-Emeraude (Rayearth)
-Presea (Rayearth)
-Saffir (SM)
-Prince Dimande (SM)
-Chiriko (Fushigi Yuugi)

- Noah (from the Japanese Duel Monsters where it's pretty clear that the missile hitting the virtual world was the end for both him and Gozaburo, unlike the dub where it was said that he saved his mind on a back-up file or something like that).
