Although this is filler since not included in the manga I loved it. Very dark feel in it, as well as interesting villains. Alister and Valon were my favorites of the 3, and another season that triggered different emotions..also our beloved pharaoh faced his greatest trials and shows that he is capable of having grief. It hurt, but also added to his character.

I disliked this arc because it puts Atem in almost exactly the same position as he was in Duelist Kingdom, when he was willing to send Kaiba over the edge of the parapet to win the duel and get into the castle. In that instance, Yugi forcibly took over the body and negated the attack.
In this instance, Yugi just hangs around outside Atem in phantom form and grabs his arm, begging and pleading for him to not play the Orichalcos card. Why didn't he just take over the body by force and stop the play like he did in DK?

Hmm..come to think of it, it does seem like he took a step back then..who knows..maybe the writers felt Atem had calmed down a little too quickly and people do see him as arrogant time and time again and so they wanted to show even though he had come a long way from being a bit "demonic", he still had a bit of cleaning up to do and so he is still gonna have a moment where his temper got so out of control he did something he would regret later.. Who knows what those writers were thinking when they didn't have Yugi pull Atem back..but I do notice writers tend to have characters show poor judgment and inconsistency in the world of entertainment A LOT..

A little case of Plot Induced Stupidity. Gotta love having characters act crazy and OOC for the sake of plot advancement. *sighs*

Yes, indeed. Fanfiction can be a balm to the soul.
