Not my favorite season but it was a great set up for the world of Duel Monsters. The highlights in it for me are the Yugi vs. Ghost Kaiba/eliminator duel, the one with Panic, Paradox and the playoff duels such as Joey vs. Bandit Keith, Joey vs. Yugi, Yugi vs. Pegasus.

I liked the pivotal moments in Yugi and Yami Yugi's relationship, such as when Yugi had to forcibly stop Yami Yugi from sending Kaiba over the edge of the parapet, marking the first time Yugi asserted himself to the spirit. Then, when they were dueling Pegasus and things weren't going well. For the first time, Yami Yugi heard Yugi calling him and they spoke as equals, Yami Yugi graciously accepting Yugi's offer of help. This also marked the first time Yami Yugi referred to Yugi as Partner (aibou).

Shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand, is how Atem and Yugi stand.
