I was wondering something. When Yami Bakura goes back into the past he takes over thief king Bakura's body. What I'm confused about is, isn't that supposed to be him? I thought Yami Bakura was Bakura's past life, in which cast thief king Bakura is him in the past. How could he take over his own body? That makes no sense to me. Shouldn't what happened to Atem happen to Yami Bakura? He'd wake up as himself in the past. But they made it look like he took over himself, much the same way as he took over Bakura.
So, at this point it's unclear whether Yami Bakura is Bakura's past life, or if he's just an evil side that Bakura made up, much the same way as Marik made his evil half. I'm thinking maybe they're both the same person which makes a loophole for the series. How can he take over the body if his spirit's already in there?

Yami Bakura is more of a fusion of Zorc and the Thief King's soul. It seems like by the time we get to Memory World, it's mostly Zorc, but still with the Thief King's memories.

My thought is the same as Desert Rose's. Yami Bakura is a combination of the thief king and Zorc, but I think it's mostly Zorc. Later Thief King Bakura turns into sand/dies and Yami Bakura tells Yami Yugi at the RPG table that he's Zorc. The Millennium World arc is kind of confusing when it comes to this.
