Atem felt contempt rising up in him at the mention of Jake's name. It was a rarity for him to be contemptuous of anyone unless the person was downright despicable. There were times he would try his method of tough love, but he wasn't sure whether Jake would be worth it if he crossed paths with him. Although he had yet to fully regain his memories of his time with Britt, something told him his history with Jake was anything but pleasant, based on what she said. ' Could he possibly be a rival in romance?' He shook away the feeling, knowing he would be able to take whatever Jake threw at him, and he was confident Britt would, too.

Atem and Yugi followed Ishizu into the room that contained the tablets. They spotted the pharaoh's tablet and went to take a quick glance at it for old time's sake. Their eyes fixated on the carving of the pharaoh and Priest Seto. It seemed like yesterday Atem was on the quest for unlocking the secrets of his past. His mind landed on his rival and cousin, Priest Seto as well as the remainder of his loyal subjects. 'I trust they are fine without my presence. ' He and Yugi turned to face Ishizu, just in case she had something important to say.

"So I have seen," said Atem. After all, it had been a year since he had successfully unlocked his memories. He and Yugi walked over to the two tablets where Britt was. Yugi looked at the one that had the prophecy of the new evil to see if he could decipher what it said and Atem went over to the one that held Britt's past to see if he could learn more about his role with her.

Unsurprisingly, Atem was able to decipher the tablet of Britt's princess memories, not to mention he had heard her when she was reading it aloud. He let out a soft gasp at the price Britt's gift cost her. 'How unfortunate that most people had become involved with her for their own selfish purposes.' He had very little respect for those who had less than pure ulterior motives for their actions. He made a promise to himself that he would protect her from such people and always be sincere and honest with her.

On the tablet Yugi was reading, it revealed how the new evil would involve an evil sorceress whose goal was to steal people's energy. Fear appeared on his features and dropped to his knees, clutching his chest. 'What? Oh no! '

Atem took out a Kleenex for Britt to dry her eyes with and then rushed over to Yugi's side. "Yugi! Are you all right? What's wrong?" He looked at the young man with worry in his eyes, reaching out a hand to help him up. Yugi gratefully accepted it and slowly got up. "I'm okay I guess," he answered. "It's just...take a look at that tablet. "

"Huh?" Atem went over to the tablet his friend was just reading and skimmed over it, his facial expression becoming grim. "Oh no," he whispered. It was like dealing with Dartz all over again, which was one of the toughest battles he faced. He remembered, though, that he was able to defeat it and also free Dartz from the dark powers of the Orichalcos. He glanced over at Yugi. "This sorceress does seem like a powerful foe, but we can defeat any enemy as long as we stick together. Just have faith in yourself and in the heart of the cards."

Yugi still looked a bit skeptical, but knew this was a destiny he couldn't run away from. "I guess you're right."

"That's right," said Atem. "Through our teamwork we will be unstoppable. We also have our friends to support us, so try not to worry so much." He was addressing both Britt and Yugi with that.

Yugi wasn't sure whether to be relieved that he and Atem had information on the enemy or scared of her ability. 'I wish I knew what she looked like. It seems I will have to wait until I hear of someone's energy being stolen to act. ' He glanced over at Ishizu. "Is there anything else we should know?"
