Nile Princess and pharaoh of egypt pt. 16
The first week of having their new prince was rough, Britt and Atem barely got any sleep when Rei would cry. They had figured out when he wanted held, fed or wrapped in a blanket. Some nights, they decided to have him sleep with them just so they could get some sleep. When morning came Atem was exhausted but he still got up to do his duty as Pharaoh. As he would get dressed he looked over at the bed where his Queen and son were asleep and smiled.
As he left the room, he went down to the throne room and listened to all the complaints and if he had to sign for something he did. He was at this for a few hours before he finally got up and went to check on his family. When he got close to the room he saw that Britt was coming out still holding their son.
“Good morning My Queen.” He said to her
“Good morning, My king.” She said
He looked down and saw that their son was still asleep. He carefully led her to the dining hall so that they both could eat and try not to wake their little Prince. Britt knew that they had to make sure he was taken care of while Atem took care of the country. As they made it to the room, he was going to hand Rei to Nanu and Ramses to watch but stopped when he saw that Rei's little hand had ahold of Britt's dress.
I can't pull him away from her without waking him. Atem thought
He pulled a seat out for her as she took a seat and then when they were brought their breakfast Britt found a way to eat while keeping hold of Rei. She wanted to make sure her son wasn't going to wake up and she enjoyed the time with her husband. Bre soon came in to find her sister but when she saw the baby in her arms she walked out and went to find Ceon. Seeing Rei in her sister's hand made her wonder about her own future.
After breakfast, they headed to walk around the palace and while they were walking Rei opened his eyes and looked around. He reached a little hand out to Atem who carefully took him from Britt and held him as they were heading to something very important.
“where are we going?” Britt asked as Atem adjusted his hold on son taking her hand.
“An important meeting. Normally the Queen isn't apart of the meeting but you know so much about the village I can't deny you access to this meeting.” Atem told her
Britt smiled as they walked in and were greeted by the priests, Rei smiled though as they walked forward and took a seat at the table. Atem kept Britt by his side while keeping his son in his arms.They had a big conversation about the village what would be best to do in safety and about the ones who did not have money to buy food. The conversation seem to last a long time.
Within a matter of months, Atem and Britt were trying to get Rei to walk. Everytime Atem tried, Rei just looked at him, but Britt kneeled down by Atem.
“Come here Rei, Come to mommy.” She said
Rei tried to stand on his feet and as he did he reached his hands out to her. Atem watched with her as Rei was taking his first steps, he was finally understanding what his father felt when he was a kid. Rei almost made it to them when he tripped and fell. He started to whine and tears formed in his eyes.
“It's ok Son, don't cry.” Atem said
Rei got back up and reached his hands out again as he took a few more steps before he reached them. Atem and Britt both hugged him and smiled. In the entrance of the room, Atem's father had been watching them.
Rei hadn't said his first word yet but Atem and Britt knew it'd only be a matter of time. Britt picked up Rei as they stood up.
“that's our good little prince.” Britt said
Atem looked over at his father and then he looked at Britt. She looked at him knowing what was on his mind, well she could only imagine right now.
“He's getting worse, You should spend time with him. If it was my father having the same problem, I would.” She told him
Atem nod in agreement knowing Britt did have a point and left the room. She sat down with Rei and smiled.
“ok Rei, let's try that first word.” Britt said
Rei just looked at her and she knew that it was worth a shot. She wasn't sure how long it'd be before he started talking.
Day turned to night, Britt went to meet up with Atem and she smiled when they found him. Atem hugged them as he kissed Britt and then kissed Rei's forehead. Britt kissed him back and she smiled, Rei laughed a little and he was happy.
“Time for bed.” Atem said as he carefully took Rei from Britt.
“yes, tuck the little prince in.” Britt said
“Not without you to sing him to sleep.” Atem told her taking her hand as they went to Rei's room.
Britt laughed a little as they went to take Rei to his room, Atem put him in bed and then Britt softly sand a lullaby until Rei was asleep.
If Raising a son is starting to get easy then maybe someday we can think of having a sibling for him. Britt thought
The days passed and this became a routine, then one day when they were just looking over a few things and Rei was on Atem's lap looking around. Britt and Atem started to hear something and at first it was soft but they were trying to figure out where it was coming from.
“Ma..ma.” Rei said
Atem and Britt looked at each other hearing that and then they looked at Rei. They realized that it was Rei's first word and they both were glad they were there to hear it.
“Our sons first word.” Britt said
“Yes, we have seen him walk his first steps and now we have heard his first word.” Atem said
Britt was about to say something when she heard a giggle. She knew it was Mana the moment she heard it and looked around. Mana was hiding in one of the jars in the room but she was still giggling. Atem smirked knowing Mana hadn't changed with her hiding spots and it was more common to figure out where she was but he ignored it like he never heard her.
“Too bad no one else heard it.” Atem said to Britt hoping she'd catch on.
Britt nod “yeah, it's an important moment.” She said
Mana popped out of the Jar and landed on her feet. “Hey I heard it!” Mana said
“We know!” Atem and Britt said as they all laughed and enjoyed the moment.

Nile Princess and the Pharaoh of Egypt pt. 17
For Atem and Britt as Rei grew he was becoming more and more adventurous. It started out in the palace just finding places to hide that made Atem and Britt worried when he would be missing. It sometimes distracted Atem from his duties as Pharaoh, but when they found him they would have someone watch him. To help Atem get caught back up Britt would go with him to help ease some of the work knowing it wasn't easy for him to maintain being a father and being Pharaoh at the same time. Britt was helping him with some paperwork when she looked up at him when they were alone.
“Atem” She said
“Yes, My Queen?” He asked
“Not now but when Rei is three. I think we should think about..having another child.” She said
He abruptly stopped what he was doing to look up from his paperwork as he looked at her. He could see in her eyes she was serious about the matter and he knew it would give their son someone to grow up with. A chance he never had since his mother passed away sometime ago.
“I think that's good idea.” He told her
Britt smiled glad he agreed as they returned to doing their work.
In the time that was between right then and three years it had been a rough three years. Atem's father had passed away from the illness so Britt had been there to comfort Atem in the toughest time. There was a struggle for some time where she felt Atem was pulling away from her and the happiness they had was fading but she never gave up on trying to get him through it. Even if it meant she had to take over most of the work, she did just to give him the time he needed. The priests had noticed how hard she would work to make it easier on their Pharaoh in the darkest time of his life.
“My Queen this isn't what you're supposed to do.” Isis said to her
Britt was working on the paperwork still and she didn't look up at Isis at all. “I don't mind doing this Isis. Our Pharaoh lost his father so he needs time. Anyone would in a time like this.” She said
A year had passed since then and things seemed almost normal, Rei was always getting into trouble after he started walking and running. Britt had become accustomed to it and so did Atem so they never thought much when he would hide since someone would have to watch them. Rei though wondered off and found his way to the stables. He started thinking and found a horse just perfect for him as he got on it and grabbed the reigns. Though once he was on, he didn't know what he was going to do for neither of his parents had taught him how to ride a horse yet.
Britt stretched and got up as she went to the palace library to walk around. She wasn't sure how things were going to be but as she started to get calm she was surprised by someone coming up behind her and picking her up.
“Sorry Britt.” Atem said
Britt looked at him and smiled “It's alright.” She said
Atem was smiling but his smile soon turned into a smirk and Britt's left eye brow raised at first wondering what he was thinking. Her answer was soon realized as he took her out of the palace library and started heading to his room. On the way there she started having flashbacks about their first time and the night they broke a law.
A few hours passed and they were laying in his bed, she rested her head on his chest as she listened to his heartbeat. She felt like things were going to be fine for them at least for now. Though Britt felt something wet hit her cheek and she looked up seeing Atem was upset and realized that he must of started thinking of his father. She started humming a song at first to try and ease away the sadness as she touched his cheek. He looked at her and she softly sang to him, even though Atem was upset about his fathers passing. He was grateful for his father betrothing him to his Queen.
I can hear that beautiful voice of hers every time she sings. Atem thought

Nile Princess and the Pharaoh of Egypt pt. 18 -problems arise-
Britt layed there after she comforted Atem and he kept her close. They were enjoying the silence that was between them knowing nothing needed to be said. They're time together was interrupted though when there was a knock on the door.
“yes?” Atem said as he kept Britt close to him still.
Britt noticed he never gave the person permission to come in and she smiled knowing that was how it should be. Atem waited to hear what was going on.
“I'm sorry for interrupting Pharaoh, but the Princess of Syria is here and wishes to speak to you on the matters of peace between Syria and Egypt.” the male voice said
Britt recognized the voice as Shimons and she knew he would be the one to report anything to Atem. Atem sighed “very well, tell her I'll be there soon.” He said
They heard Shimon walk away and he looked at Britt with a smirk. Britt looked at him and she wondered what he was thinking.
“I said I'd be there soon, I didn't say I would go right away.” He whispered in Britt's ear.
Britt giggled, and Atem kissed her not long after and she kissed him back.
It was a hour and a half later that Atem headed to the throne room where the princess was waiting. He knew too well how Syrians thinked when they wanted peace though he would like to avoid any war if possible.
“Pharaoh, you must have been busy to make me wait so long.” The Syrian princess said
“Yes, I was busy in a meeting when I was told of your arrival, now I've heard you've come to discuss peace.” He said
“yes, we have discussed it a few times on how to keep the peace between Egypt and Syria. We've come to the decision on having one of your people marry one of ours.” She said
He looked at her while taking in the information as he thought about it. Britt was near the throne room and she listened to some of what was being said.
“Who did you have in mind?” He asked
“We've heard rumors that there's a princess that is called the Nile Princess. We'd like her to marry someone of my father's choice.” She said
The Nile Princess isn't the Nile Princess anymore. She's my wife! Atem thought but kept his cool.
Me?! Why would they choose me? I'm married already. Britt thought as she listened.
“Well I don't know who the nile princess is. Nor would I have any authority over her for she's a princess of another kingdom here in Egypt.” Atem said plainly.
She saw the difference in his voice and though he was hiding something. She also started to feel like someone was watching them but when she looked back she saw no one. Britt hid against the wall out of eye sight knowing right now she had to deal with this.
I am and always will be the Nile Princess, even in marriage I am for I was chosen by the Nile Goddess herself. Atem, you know that and I know that but we have to keep it secret. Britt thought
in the hall, Bre and Ceon were walking when they saw Britt hiding and they went over and hid with her as they listened.
“Pharaoh, I'm sure you can get her to agree. After all you have your ways.” She said
no way, I'd never marry out of Egypt ever! She better not be thinking of putting her sights on him. Britt thought

Nile princess and the Pharaoh of Egypt pt 19
Britt was listening when she couldn't take it anymore, she took her crown off and handed it to Bre. Then she pointed for them to hold Rei and not let him follow her. As she went into the throne room, her hair concealed her amulet and birthmark but as she walked in Princess Anzu and her husband looked at her. Britt walked right over to him and kissed him as her usual greeting to him when she would come to see him. He kissed her back and wrapped his arms around her until she stood by him. He noticed her hair was covering up her amulet and she wasn't wearing her crown.
“Princess Anzu, this is my wife, Britt.” Atem said
“It's nice to meet you, Queen Britt.” The Princess said
Britt detected some jealousy in the Princess's voice, she smiled though being polite.
“As it is nice to meet you Princess Anzu.” Britt said.
Atem took Britt's hand in his and kissed the top of it. Britt smiled and thought it was a bit much of affection coming from her husband but with the circumstances of the Princess wanting to take the Nile Princess. She couldn't blame him.
“Have you had your first child yet? A Pharaoh must have an heir for his throne.” Anzu said to Britt.
“It is something we are working on.” Britt said, but she knew Rei was already born so that part was going to be left out.
“My dear wife, why don't you go to your sister and have breakfast. I shall join you shortly.” He said to Britt.
Britt looked at him not wanting to leave his side but she knew better than to fight as her amulet could be exposed at any moment. She nod and then left for breakfast, after she walked out of the throne room and turned the corner. Rei got free from Bre and ran to his mother. She picked him up and they all headed to the dinning hall. Britt was with her sister, her son Rei and Ceon in the dining hall for awhile before Atem finally came in and joined them.
“Anything happen?” Britt asked
“No, She's not budging though. She wants to take “the nile Princess” if she can find her.” Atem said looking at her.
Britt shrugged and knew they could make a fake of her item and put it on someone else. Rei was close to Britt as she was helping him eat.
“We'll do what we have to.” Britt said
I hope so, I wonder if I can protect Britt if they find out it's her. Atem thought

Nile Princess and the pharaoh of egypt pt. 20
Britt used a piece of cloth after breakfast to wipe away from her son's mouth. She knew one way or another they were having a hard time.
“we're going to have a problem on our hands if we don't do anything.” Britt said annoyed.
Atem placed a hand on her shoulder seeing that this made her angry. He couldn't blame her for being so angry at the Syrian Princess. Bre and Ceon could see it too as she was getting annoyed, the water on the table was starting to move.
“Britt calm down.” Atem said
Britt took a deep breath and relaxed, then she picked up Rei before standing up. She looked at everyone at the table knowing she needed time to relax. Bre nod to Britt for her to go and take a relaxer.
“I'll come up with some plan soon, I promise.” She said
As Britt and Rei left the room, Anzu was walking out of her own room. She saw Britt walking to the gardens but she noticed something or someone was in her hands. She couldn't help but follow in curiousity. When Britt arrived at the garden she set Rei down and he ran around some to play but stayed close. Britt walked over to a small pond in the water and she placed a hand in it.
“Show me the syrian princess and her true intentions.” She said to the water.
In the water she saw the syrian princess was outside the garden doors, the guards were keeping her out since Britt had entered the room. As for her intentions she saw that her true intentions were to try and break apart her and Atem.
Anything else, my princess? She heard a female voice ask her and knew it was Anuket.
“Show me what will befall the nile princess if she finds out who it really is? Please Goddess Anuket I beg of you.” Britt said
As Britt asked, Anuket showed her that Anzu would try to take her from the Egyptian palace, but as for suitors there was none available except the princess herself. Britt didn't like the thought of it, Suddenly though she felt weak and sick. She started to cough some and fell back.
“Mama!” Rei said, as he ran over to her and tried to wake her.
A guard had came in to check on her and saw she was unconciosus, he urgently told the other guard to get the Pharoah as he picked her up along with little Rei and took them to the Pharaoh's bed chambers.
When Atem arrived he saw Britt was unconcious still and their son was crying on her shoulder. He walked over to her and felt her cheek, he noticed she felt warm. Britt reacted though to his touch and her eyes opened slightly.
“Britt, oh my Queen you're awake.” He said
“I'll be fine, I promise.” Britt said though it was as comforting as she normally would be.
Isis came in and Atem asked her to look at Britt make sure she was ok. Isis nod and did what she could as she did a few checks. What she came back with was most shocking to her but also comforting at the same time.
“She just needs rest Pharaoh. These are signs of another blessing from the god.” Isis said
“Not just one..two.” Britt said with a slight smile.
“Two..blessings?” Atem said, it took him a second before he realized that they were meaning twin children.
He had security increased with this news, and for the matters with Syria he had them put on hold. While Britt was carrying though he made sure the Syrian Princess was never aloud around her for her protection of her secret.
Bre eventually came up with a plan after five months and had a family member make a fake amulet of Britt's. She then had Ceon bring the girl to Atem and the Princess of Syria. When Atem saw the girl be brought in by Ceon, he realized what Bre had done. But in a way it worked in their favor as she left with the syrian Princess. Atem felt relieved.
The next four months went smoothly until the day the twins finally came. Atem and the rest of Britt's family were worried at first. Soon though someone came out and let them in to see them.
Atem walked in first as he saw Britt holding two little babies in her arms. He walked over and sat on the bed by her.
“what are they?” He asked
“Twin girls..but they're not exactly the same.” Britt said
He smiled “our Kamari and Keda.” He said remembering the names she had suggested. Britt smiled and nod at that.
He asked to hold one and she let him, when he looked at the one she handed him. It was like he knew right away which name was for her.
“Kamari.” Atem said
“then this one will be Keda.” She said as she looked at them.
Bre and Ceon soon came in and smiled at the little ones who were new. Rei ran into the room and Atem smiled at him.
“look Rei, these are your sisters.” Atem said
Rei climbed up by his parents as he looked at both babies curious.
“My sisters.” He said
Both his parents smiled at him glad he was accepting of this.

Nile Princess and the pharaoh of egypt pt. 21 pts. 1 and 2
For the next week Britt was put on Bed rest under Isis's orders though she didn't want to rest after three days of being in bed. Atem would come to check on her bringing Rei and the girls with him since Britt didn't want maids doing much of the work while she was on bed rest. He handed her Keda and she carefully took her and smiled.
“just a few more days my Queen.” Atem said to her
“It feels like it's taking forever.” She said
Rei sat between them enjoying these moments with his family, Britt looked up at him as she was holding Keda then ruffled his hair with her free hand. Rei laughed and looked at her as she smiled at him.
“you're my good boy.” She said
Rei laughed and both his parents smiled, Kamari was asleep in Atem's arms but eventually she opened her eyes and looked up at him. Atem and Britt looked at her seeing she was awake, Kamari just had an open mouth smile which made both of them smile. Keda soon also opened her eyes and did the same as her sister which brightened Britt up even though she was on bed rest.
Next few days seemed to go by fast, but Britt was soon back and she went to their training room. Atem was busy with hearing the peoples complaints and he was slightly bored. Rei followed his mom to see what she was doing. He saw that she entered the training room and he peeked in the room to see she was all alone.
Britt used deep breaths and calmed herself after being in bed rest for so long, she had to get her power back up to where she had it. Nile Blue energy formed around Britt and she opened her eyes, her eyes for a second resembled the energy around her. She raised her hands and water from near by came to her, she used it to form a scepter then she concentrated as her amulet glowed soon revealing her soul Ka.
Atem sensed the presence of a strong Ka so when he was done he followed his thoughts of where he figured it was. As he came toward the training room he saw Rei peeking in so he looked in too. What surprised him was seeing Britt in there and her Ka. Suddenly though he noticed she wasn't alone and saw the other girls Britt hanged out with in the room. Their kas were out too, but they were sitting down so he wondered.
What is Britt up to? Atem thought
Britt smiled as she raised her hand to the dragon along with using her other hand to the others.
“Goddess's pets I call you to come, you are the servants of the Goddess but the Kas of my strongest friends.” Britt said to the Ka
Atem watched in curiosity but as he saw the Kas come to her, he started to realize Britt's heart held these Kas within her since they listened.
So her friends are connected to her and her Goddess? Amazing. Britt is full of mystery sometimes. Atem thought

Britt was straining herself with all this power she hadn't used in weeks but she kept her deep breaths. She knew theories of the Priests for she never used her Ka or power around others, So some priests thought her Ka was probably mixed with her Ba. As her friends watched though it turned out that wasn't the case at all,Atem watched as he saw her having some difficulties.
I can do this..I can do this just concentrate. Britt thought
You're pushing yourself too much Britt. Atem thought
“By the power of the Goddess, I command you pets to defend.” Britt said yelling
The Goddess's pets all went around Britt to defend her and Britt was trying her best to hold it together so she wouldn't let it show how she was feeling. Zoey wasn't fooled seeing that even with all of them there Britt was having slight difficulties with holding her power. After a few minutes Britt was about to use her power to command them again when she fell backwards, the Goddess and the Goddess's pets all disappeared. Zoey was quick to move to catch her best friend, Atem saw this and ran in to his wife seeing she over did it.
“Is she ok?” He asked
“She's fine, she just over did it because she wants to get her gift to be as strong as it used to be.” Zoey said
Atem looked at Britt who was unconscious then he carefully took her from Zoey, then he left with her. Her friends worried for her but they knew he was aware of her gift so they had a feeling where he was taking her. Atem took Britt to the garden area, following behind him was Rei. Once in the Garden he took some water from the pond and splashed a little on his wife's face. Rei came over by them waiting to see what would happen, as both watched there was a blue glow on Britt's face where the water touched her face. Soon her eyes opened, she felt better slightly and when she saw Atem with Rei she smiled at both of them.
“Hey.” she said
“Mama!” Rei said and hugged her
Britt hugged him back “I'm ok My son.” She said then
“Are you sure, My Queen?” Atem asked
Britt nod, carefully sitting up so she wasn't laying down with Rei hugging her. She looked at her husbands concerned face and lifted her hand to touch the side of his face to show him she was fine. She smiled though knowing he was probably watching her while she trained. Soon though there was a servant who walked in and bowed to them.
“My Apologies your Majesties but there was a letter that arrived today.” The servant said
“Who is it from?” Atem asked
“The Persian Royal family, My Pharaoh.” The servant said
Britt's eyes widened knowing not many people knew she was related to the Persian royal family because her dad was half Persian. She didn't want to speak up but then Atem noticed her uneasiness and took her hand.
“what's wrong my Queen?” He asked
“My father is related to the Persian royal family.” Britt said
Atem was surprised by this news, but he figured there was things about Britt he would learn. She didn't seem to want to talk about her family that often and he respected that. He pulled her close which caused her to smile. Atem then took the letter from the servant and opened it as both of them looked at it. Atem wasn't fluent in reading Persian writing but he saw Britt seemed to understand it.
“What does it say love?” He asked
“It says they wish to speak with you. They've heard of our Marriage and since they were not invited to the wedding they wish to come visit.” Britt said
I hope this isn't going to cause trouble. Britt thought
Atem noticed her uneasiness was still there then he helped her up taking her to their room. Half way there though she pulled away refusing to go into their room.
“No, I've been in there for weeks.” She said
“then we'll figure out other ways for you to relax.” Atem said
what could he do to get me to relax? Britt thought
